Dr. Cathy Maculan graduated from National Chiropractic College (now called National University of Heath Sciences) and is licensed in Illinois. She has been a Board Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP) since 1996 and continues to seek continuing education in sports injuries, insurance documentation and evidence based practice. She enjoys applying her knowledge to not only to athletes, but to everyone who wants to maximize their ability to function and enjoy a more pain free and healthy life.

Techniques include: Diversified, Extremity Adjusting, Activator, Thompson Drop Technique and Massage.

Therapies include: Electric Stimulation (Interferential/Russian Stimulation), Kinesiotaping, Athletic taping, a variety of manual muscle release techniques as well as home exercise and stretching programs.

She believes it is the doctor's responsibility to help patients find out what is wrong and help them to help themselves. Through detailed questioning, active listening and performing a thorough examination, she finds out what is wrong and if chiropractic is the best way to treat it. She also helps patients learn to listen to their bodies and act before problems require medication or surgery. She encourages patients to take control of and responsibility for their own health by encouraging them to take care of themselves through exercise, stretching and healthy lifestyle choices. She likes to work with other healthcare professional to maximally benefit her patients.

She enjoys all sports and has participated in Track & Field, Cross Country, Softball and Motocross. She grew up on a farm, in a family of four children, helping to care for all the farm animals. She has owned horses and cows and currently owns a dog and cat.

Family is very important to her. She grew up in Belvidere/Rockford and has deep family roots in the area. She is married and has 2 young children, a girl and a boy.
